Why the procedure is only set AIR FLOW to HI regardless of pressure too high or too low?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:<\/strong><br \/>\nDue to the fact the flight crew will not be able to distinguish between mixer pressures too high or too low, the procedure is applicable for both cases. The too low mixer pressure is usually caused by excessive leakage in the air distribution system (e.g. duct or mixer rupture). This leakage is compensated by increasing the mixer inflow, selecting AIR FLOW to HI. Nevertheless the additional flow may not be sufficient to fully compensate the leakage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q_2:<\/strong><br \/>\nI can understand the reson for setting HI in case of pressure too low. However if the pressure is too high, will setting HI aggravate the situation instead of mitigaitng it?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A_2:<\/strong><br \/>\nAirbus would like to thank you for your remark.<br \/>\nWe confirm that when the mixer pressure is high there is no procedure to apply.
